The University of South Florida (USF) Athletic Medicine Department is seeking applications for three (3) Certified Athletic Training Interns. These are one-year positions with the potential for renewal for a second year, based on performance and departmental needs.
Sport Assignments
Interns will be assigned to one of the following areas:
- Football
- Men’s and Women’s Basketball (one Intern to support both teams)
- Track & Field/ CC
These positions are structured as entry-level roles designed to provide mentorship and professional development. Each intern will work closely under the supervision of full-time athletic trainers currently assigned to their respective sport programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
- Provide practice and competition coverage
- Support daily athletic training room operations
- Collaborate with sports medicine staff, strength and conditioning, and team physicians
Minimum Qualifications
- BOC Certification through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA)
- Florida State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain licensure)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Compensation
Certified interns receive:
- A competitive Monthly stipend
