We are looking for speakers and asking those who are interested to submit an abstract.
Case studies. Case studies should be 20-30 minutes long with time available for Q&A. Cases being submitted should be both challenging and unique from a management perspective for the college athletic trainer. Please note cases with a final outcome will be considered over unknown outcomes. Example of an unknown outcome is an athletic trainer may have a unique injury case, however the athlete just completed surgery so return to competition or an outcome like end of sport has yet to be determined.
Presentations. Presentation topics may be submitted for consideration. Topics can be administrative, medical or orthopedic. Presentation times will be determined based on the subject. Presenter's credentials and expertise on the subject will be reviewed.
Breakout Presentations. We are also looking for presentations for our breakout sessions which include rehab or evaluation topics which include demonstrations. Breakouts can also include administrative/healthcare topics more appropriate for smaller group discussions. These sessions are typically 1hr 30 min - 1hr 45 min. Presenter's credentials and expertise on the subject will be reviewed.
Anyone who would like to recommend their team physicians or another speaker who is well versed with our profession and/or healthcare of college athletes can reach out to us.
This is a great opportunity for college athletic trainers, especially rising professionals. We encourage college athletic trainers from ANY DIVISION and ALL BACKGROUNDS to get involved and present in front of their colleagues.
Please send your abstract to jlee@collegeathletictrainer.org.
If you are not sure about your topic, please feel free to email me a brief summary before spending time on a formal abstract. Members being considered will be contacted directly by Josephine Lee to discuss details.
Abstracts should highlight main points of the case/presentation and be less than one page. Consider including the following information:
Case/Topic Summary
Conclusion/Outcome/Uniqueness
Learning Objectives
Speaker's Background Summary or Curriculum Vitae
