Position Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer – Women’s Basketball

Department: Athletics / Sports Medicine

Reports to: Assistant Athletic Director of Medical Services 

Position Summary

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will support the Athletics Department by providing athletic training services, including prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and injury management for student-athletes — with primary coverage of the Women’s Basketball program. The role will also include coverage for practices, games (home and away), and related team events as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or related field (Master’s preferred but not required). 

• Certification by the appropriate national/regional athletic‐training credentialing body (e.g. Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer, or equivalent)

• Current state of South Carolina licensure 

• Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification. 

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills; ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks independently or as part of a team. 

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Previous collegiate-level athletic-training experience, ideally with women’s basketball or other team sports. 

• Experience supervising and/or mentoring student athletic trainers or interns. 

• Familiarity with NCAA (or relevant collegiate athletics governing body) regulations, compliance standards, and documentation requirements.
