    Minimum Requirements:

    • One year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
    • BOC certified or certification eligible, good standing for licensure as an Athletic Trainer by the Missouri Board of Medical Licensure and CPR/AED Certification.
    • Must have demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and sports medicine standards of care, ability to apply NATA/BOC code of ethics to care, excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and a strong commitment to professional growth, demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment, and experience working in a comprehensive sports medicine environment.
    • Demonstrated core values of customer focus, teamwork, and professional communication.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and nighttime hours and weekends
    • Travel to away competitions, work practices and home games
    • Ability to work in fast-paced Division I Athletics environments

    Position Description:

    The University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Athletic Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Resident Athletic Trainer for the 2024-2025 academic year. Start date as soon as possible. The sport assignment shall be at the discretion of the Director of Sports Medicine but may include Softball, Men’s and Women’s Track & Field. Resident Athletic Trainers will provide healthcare services for their assigned team, including but not limited to: injury prevention and evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation, practice/event coverage, physician referral, medical appointments. Resident Athletic Trainers will be asked to participate in a mentorship program and may be assigned professional development tasks during their tenure. This position will report to the Director of Sports Medicine or his/her designee. This is a University of Missouri- Kansas City position only- individual will work directly with Athletics Department. Position is a monthly/salaried position earning $3,956.33 per month.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Provide game, practice, conditioning athletic training coverage for assigned sports

    Provide training room coverage

    Medical records management

    Other duties assigned by the Senior Director of Sports Medicine

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in athletic training or a related field
    • Up to one (1) year of related work experience within a collegiate or professional sports setting
    • Experience as a preceptor in a CAATE-Accredited Athletic Training Program
    • Certifications in dry needling and/or manual therapy
