Avila University is located in Kansas City, Missouri. We are seeking a full-time assistant athletic trainer to join our team for the 2024-25 academic year. You would be working with two other full-time athletic trainers plus one part-time athletic trainer. Avila’s 14 sports participate in the NAIA and compete in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
POSITION: Assistant Athletic Trainer
SALARY: Firm at $50K.
WORK YEAR: 11-month position paid out over 12 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide athletic training services for intercollegiate athletics, including but not limited to, evaluation and treatment of injuries, designing and supervising rehabilitation programs, pre-practice and game preparations and referral of student-athletes to allied health care providers.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation on athlete injuries and treatments.

Assist with filing secondary insurance claims and ensure timely responses.

Document the receipt of athlete annual paperwork and provide support during annual physicals.

Communicate injury updates to coaches and the strength and conditioning team.

Assist the head athletic trainer with operations of the athletic training facilities, including ordering and inventory of all athletic training supplies.

Athletic training coverage includes practices, games (home and some away) and postseason competition. Become familiar with NAIA and KCAC policies and regulations and participate in any college and departmental training and continued educational opportunities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a currently NATABOC certified athletic trainer in good standing.

Must currently hold or obtain athletic training state licensure in Missouri.

Must be current and up to date with Emergency Cardiac Care certification.

Abide by institutional and departmental policies & procedures and maintain institutionally required online training courses.
