The University of the South, also known as Sewanee, is a private liberal arts college in southeast Tennessee. We are seeking a dynamic, determined team player to join our team of Athletic Trainers. Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer and will assist with overseeing medical care for all varsity student-athletes participating in 24 varsity sports. Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and medical documentation of athletic injuries and illnesses.
This is a full-time, 10-month position with primary sport assignments in Football, Women's basketball, and Baseball.
The University of the South offers 24 NCAA Division III sports that competes in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate athletic injuries; administer proper first aid and emergency care.
- Direct treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Maintain and organize Fowler Center Athletic Training Room and Kyle Rote Soccer / Lacrosse Facility Athletic Training Room.
- Maintain injury/medical files including correspondence with physicians.
- Communicate with coaches, administrators, physicians, and parents regarding injury status of athletes.
- Assist Head Athletic Trainer with varsity sport coverage, including home and away contests.
- Assist Head Athletic Trainer in ensuring all varsity sport practices are staffed either on site or in the Athletic Training Room by a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
3 years experience in an Athletic Training setting
Licenses/Certifications:
- National Certification (NATABOC)
- TN State Licensure
- Valid Driver’s License F Endorsement
