Description:
- Responsible for injury prevention, diagnosis, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of muscle and bone injuries and illnesses of student-athletes.
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and assess injuries and provide for immediate care when needed.
- Responsible for education student-athletes in injury prevention by advising them in proper use of equipment, exercises to improve balance and strength, home exercises and therapy programs.
- Applies protective or injury-prevention devices such as tape, bandages, and braces as necessary.
- Meets regularly with licensed team physician regarding specific injuries, injury evaluations, and treatment options for student-athletes.
- Assists with camp coverage during the summer months.
- Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with administrative duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field; master’s degree preferred; Must be BOC certified; eligible for Nebraska State Licensure; Two years of experience in athletic training setting; CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer Certification; Preceptorship experience preferred but not required
