    Job Description:

    As a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Concordia University Irvine, you will play a crucial role in supporting the healthcare needs of our student-athletes. The Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in all facets of a successful Athletic Training program within the framework of the mission of the university and the intercollegiate athletics department. These include, but are not limited to instruction and the spiritual development of all student-athletes. Other responsibilities may include the following:

    • Conducting thorough injury assessments and evaluations during athletic activities.

    • Assisting in designing and implementing injury prevention programs tailored to specific sports teams.

    • Supporting the treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, working closely with athletes and coaches.

    • Collaborating with coaching staff to ensure a safe and conducive training environment.

    • Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records for athletes in compliance with university and NCAA regulations.

    • Providing immediate first aid and emergency care when required during practices and events.

    • Assisting in coordinating medical referrals and appointments for student-athletes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Attend practices, games, and events to provide comprehensive medical coverage and support.

    • Collaborate with athletes to facilitate injury recovery and rehabilitation programs.

    • Assist in the organization and maintenance of athletic training facilities and equipment.

    • Work in coordination with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to athletes.

    • Actively engage in continuing education opportunities to stay updated on the latest trends and practices in athletic training.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.

    • National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification.

    • Current CPR/AED certification.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, to align with team schedules.

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
