Description:
Assists the UCSB ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM STAFF in administering, coordinating, and supervising activities in the Harry Callihan Athletic Training Room. Provide prevention, care and treatment of athletic injuries in cooperation with ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM STAFF MEMBERS, head athletic trainer and team physician with emphasis on overseeing medical treatment and post-injury reconditioning programs DURING COMPETITION AND PRACTICES. Administrative duties as assigned with maintaining accurate medical records. Be knowledgeable of, and comply with, NCAA, Big West Conference, University of California and Athletic Department rules, policies and regulations applicable to the performance of this position.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related area, required
- 1-3 years experience in related area, preferred
- Has in-depth understanding of the Athletic trainer profession and can independently perform responsibilities of the functions listed.
- Strong skills necessary to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of campus procurement functions and requirements relating to athletic training room equipment and supplies.
- Strong ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with coaches, student athletes, team physician, medical specialists, faculty, staff and others as appropriate.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matter involving athletic injuries and treatments.
- Strong ability to analyze problems and determine solutions.
- Professional certification required.
- AED/CPR Certified, required
- First Aid Certified, required
- ATC, required
