    Athletic Trainer

    The Sports Medicine Department at Messiah University is now accepting applications for an Athletic Trainer.

    Responsibilities:  
    This position works as a member of the Athletic Training staff to provide healthcare for athletes competing in 22 intercollegiate sports at Messiah College. Primary duties include prevention, clinical evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of injuries and illness for Messiah College intercollegiate athletes. Additional duties include organization and administration of the Athletic Training Facility.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree required with current BOC Certification; Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensed Athletic Trainer or eligible. 1-3 years of athletic training experience is required. Master’s degree in a related field and college/university experience preferred.

    Skills and Characteristics: Ability to effectively assist student athletes with new/recurring injuries from athletics participation to recover physically and emotionally; Ability to clearly, accurately and fully complete medical forms related to injuries and insurance coverage; Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and importance of holistic education; Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning and professional development; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to assess, evaluate, and manage crisis situations; Strong organizational skills; Ability to support and articulate the college mission and vision for higher education.
