The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 10-month position reporting to the Director of Athletics. Pitt-Bradford is a NCAA Division III institution and a founding member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Salary: $48,743/year - $50,000/year
Duties: As Assistant Athletic Trainer, you will:
- · Conduct assessments of athletes' injuries, illnesses, and medical histories.
- · Develop and implement treatment plans for athletic injuries and conditions.
- · Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and the Head Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive care to athletes.
- · Educate athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and proper nutrition.
- · Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of injuries and treatments.
- · Coordinate medical referrals and follow-up care for athletes as needed.
- · Conduct pre-participation physical examinations for athletes.
- · Manage and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- · Stay current with advancements in sports medicine and best practices in athletic training.
- · Assist with the development and implementation of sports medicine policies and procedures.
- · Provide support and guidance to student athletic trainers and interns.
- · Participate in athletic department meetings and professional development activities.
- · Adhere to NCAA regulations and uphold ethical standards in athletic training practices.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board Certification, Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer License, and a minimum of five years’ experience. Preference given to candidates with a master’s degree in a related field. Strong writing skills, computer skills and ability to work nontraditional hours and travel when necessary. A sense of humor and well-developed work ethic are also helpful.
