Rutgers University is looking to fill the need of an assistant athletic trainer.
Job Overview:
Assist with the coordination and delivery of medical care for athletes within the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at Rutgers University, in consultation with the Assistant Director of Athletic Training and other qualified medical personnel,
The incumbent will assist other fulltime sports health providers with daily event coverage and care delivery as scheduled and provide the sports health department with short- and long-term leave replacement support
Qualifications:
Required:
National Athletic Trainers' Association BOC certification in good standing,
New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners Athletic Training License in good standing,
Degree in athletic training from CAATE-accredited athletic training program
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Experience managing multiple tasks while working proficiently under pressure
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with efficiency and effectiveness
Commitment to maintain confidentiality and discretion in managing personal health information
Ability to routinely lift equipment and supplies, up to 50 pounds, from ground and assist with ambulation of injured individuals
Active AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Certification,
Preferred:
Professional experience as an Athletic Trainer working with highly motivated individuals in collegiate or other elite athletic settings
Blood Flow Restriction training/proficiency
Scheduling Requirements:
May include non-traditional working hours, holidays, evenings, and weekends,
Some travel required
Essential Functions:
Provide athletic training services for the University s athletic department
Attend scheduled team practices and competitions, home and away, as scheduled
Manage the comprehensive health-related needs of the teams and individual athletes, as assigned, through professional interaction and patient-centered approach
Provide first aid and emergency medical care to athletes through accepted medical standards
Develop and/or implement procedures and routines for attending to and dealing with minor day to day injuries of athletes
Provide rehabilitative services for athletes, under the direction of team physicians and in coordination with staff physical therapist and athletic trainers
Provide reports when requested
Within the bounds of confidentiality and other related matters of propriety, make sure that relevant information is set forth and presented to coaches, academic support, and health service providers, as well as to athletes and their family members in a clear, concise, and cogent format

Pay Transparency:
Pay Range: $54,600.00 - $66,300.00 per year
The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
