The Sports Medicine Department at Northwestern State University, a Division I member of the NCAA and the Southland Conference, is currently accepting applications for multiple, newly created, Assistant Athletic Trainer positions within the intercollegiate athletic department. Possible sport assignments may include: Football, Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field, Softball and Women's Tennis.
These positions are full time, 12-month positions. Salary will be $50,000 and full benefits eligible. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
Expected start date will be July 1, 2023. New graduates, and those preparing to graduate soon, are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Candidate must be fully certified as an Athletic Trainer by the BOC. Must become state licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners prior to start date. Experience at the college level preferred.
Job Concepts:
Coverage of games and practices, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries, completing all necessary documentation, and travel with the assigned sport. Assist head athletic trainer with daily operation of athletic training room; supervise the physician visits to the athletic training room; administrative and other duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer.
