    Louisiana Christian University is seeking applicants for one Athletic Trainer to start January 1, 2023 The Athletic Trainer is a professional position responsible for providing primary healthcare for the student-athletes at Louisiana Christian University, providing coverage for sports practices and contests as assigned; prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; maintaining up-to-date injury documentation and treatment records, physician referrals as appropriate, and administrative duties as assigned. This Athletic Trainer position will be responsible for providing primary coverage for assigned teams at LCU, with other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director.  The current sport openings are M/W soccer and softball, with coverage responsibilities to be adjusted as needed based on staffing experience and departmental needs.  Louisiana Christian University sponsors nine varsity sports - football, M/W basketball, M/W soccer, softball, baseball, men's golf and women's volleyball, with tennis to be added in Fall 2023, as well as club cheer. As a professional position, the job is exempt from the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) The Athletic Trainer is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Louisiana Christian University, the Red River Athletic Conference, and the NAIA, as well as abide by the laws and ethics set forth by the Board of Certification and Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. LCU is a Christ-centered Community committed to Academic Excellence where students are equipped for Lives of Learning, Leading, and Serving. With a vision to Prepare Graduates and Transform Lives, LCU develops the intellect and maturity of students with curricular and spiritual principles characterized by three words: relevant, relational, and rigorous  


    LCU provides a salary of $40,000 and a benefit package including medical insurance, matched retirement and matched health saving account LCU Sports Medicine covers the annual Louisiana licensure fee, NATA dues, and provides a CEU allotment.    

     

    Requirements:  

    Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE-accredited program  

    BOC certified  

    Louisiana State Licensure prior to January 1, 2023 


    Preferred Qualifications:  

    Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine or related field  

    2-3 years collegiate experience
