Intern/Graduate Assistant - Athletic Trainer
McKendree University in Lebanon, IL is seeking applicants for the intern/graduate assistant athletic trainer position for the 2022-2023 academic year. McKendree University is a NCAA Division II affiliate and a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and has a staff of 4 full-time certified athletic trainers, 3 full-time faculty certified athletic trainers, and 5 graduate assistant certified athletic trainers. The candidate will report to the Head Athletic Trainer. An hourly rate at $12.00-$13.00 per hour is a benefit of this position; tuition remission is available for graduate assistants enrolled and attending a graduate program with McKendree University.
The Intern/Graduate Assistants will be responsible for organization and supervision of health care delivery to student-athletes with responsibilities to a designated sport(s) under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. Each position will require clinical hours, coverage of the assigned sport(s) (including travel), and administrative duties as assigned. Position will have a start date of August 1st. Duties include but not limited to:
- Providing sports medicine coverage for assigned events and practices.
- Assist with insurance documentation.
- Maintaining of medical records.
- Supervision of student-athletes and athletic training students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events. Must comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. BOC Certification and Illinois Licensure eligibility required. Current certification in Professional Rescuer CPR/AED is required.
