Boston University’s Athletic Training Services is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual for the position of Athletic Trainer. Our unit represents an exciting opportunity to deliver outstanding health care services while establishing new programs in conjunction with our Sports Medicine Initiative. This unit’s reporting structure is to the Medical Director of Sports Medicine and represents a significant change in traditional athletic training reporting roles. The candidate will work cooperatively with Student Health Services, the Department of Athletics, the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (PERD), the Division of Military Education, the Boston University School of Medicine, and the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences- Sargent College.
Athletic Training Services has a staff of 20 athletic trainers, 2 athletic training residents & 1 athletic training fellow who are enrolled in our two CAATE-accredited residency programs in orthopedics and neurology. We are the first accredited residency programs in the collegiate setting. We provide care for approximately 1600 students at Boston University with approximately 30,000 patient visits a year.
The Athletic Trainer position is responsible for the complete spectrum of medical care (physical and mental) of students, including, but not limited to prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses and coverage of athletic events. Providing education and mentoring for various groups within the University including supervision, instruction and evaluation of undergraduate, graduate and medical students, medical residents, sports medicine fellows and athletic training residents. Fostering professional growth and development in clinical care of clinical professional staff through collaborative treatments, individual and group instruction, chart and case reviews, and establishment of standard treatment patterns. Performing administrative duties, community outreach and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Master’s degree preferred (post professional Athletic Training degree preferred);
- One to three years of experience post certification;
- Certified and in good standing by the Board of Certification
- Licensed or license-eligible by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions by start date;
- CPR certified for the Professional Rescuer (or equivalent) and AED certified;
- Diverse clinical experience;
- Excellent written and oral communication;
- Demonstrated teaching and lecturing preferred;
- Satisfactory completion of Boston University background check

Salary: $68,000 - $70,000
